Smart screen (Smart Stay) in keeping the screen on

Are you familiar with the Smart Stay system? One of the features of Samsung phones is that it keeps the screen on as long as you look at the mobile screen. XDA-Developer reported on Wednesday that Google is developing something similar to this feature in Android Q beta.

Called Screen Attention, this feature uses the front camera to recognize what you’re looking at. If you look at the screen and its content, the software realizes that the screen should remain on. Otherwise, the software detects that it should keep the screen on normally and then turn it off.

Google reports show that screen attention is used as an Adaptive Sleep to keep the screen in Android Q beta 3.

According to the codes used in Android Q beta 4, it seems that it wants to use screen attention for future Google devices. These images are neither stored anywhere nor sent to Google, also you can have more settings for this section in the screen settings section. To reach this section, you can refer to the menu Settings > Display > Screen attention.

To implement this feature, two basic parameters are required, one is that this feature uses the technical capabilities of Pixel phone image processing and the second is the possibility that Google wants to show this feature in the Pixel 4 phone in general.
